In recent years Sudan is beginning to experience the effects of climate change. Rainfall, key for open field cultivation, is becoming less predictable. Temperatures are expected to rise. Water availability is reduced, and will continue in the future as well.
Khartoum University experience a lack of knowledge and expertise regarding solutions required to transform the current agricultural practices towards more sustainable ways of growing food. The staff is aware of the potential of novel forms of agriculture, but do not have the right knowledge available to teach students on these topics.
The TMT will strengthen the capacities and skills of our teachers to improve the employability of our graduates and contribute to the overall development in Sudan.
