Soil investigation institute

The Soil Research Institute conducts basic and applied research in different fields of Soil Science. Studies are carried out in physics, chemistry, physico-chemistry, biology, fertility, and mineralogy, among other specialties, always linked to the ecosystem services of soils. The Cartography and Surveying area has as its main function mapping and evaluation for diverse objectives. In all cases, the studies prioritize a conservation approach to the soil resource. The Institute also has a reference laboratory for the analysis of soils, water, and plants. There is extensive collaboration with other INTA units, national, provincial, and international science and technology institutions, as well as interactions with the private sector.
