The potential of saline agriculture in Cuba

Dr. Arjen de Vos and Dr. Bas Bruning of The Salt Doctors have worked as individual consultants with FAO Cuba and the Cuban Ministry of Agriculture to assess the potential of saline agriculture in the country. Different parts of Cuba were visited to perform salinity assessments and various stakeholders were interviewed. Based on the results a report has been composed that provides recommendations for the next steps of implementation (that also includes the use of salt tolerant crops and agroforestry) and working towards large scale impact.
