Saline intrusion is a growing threat to coastal countries, intensifying due to more frequent extreme climate events and countries’ socio-economic, institutional, and infrastructural vulnerabilities. In this context, this Rural Highlight reflects on the infrastructural potential to reduce the impact of saline intrusion in the Baixo Limpopo Irrigation Scheme (RBL), specifically in the districts of Xai-Xai, Limpopo, Chongoene, and Chibuto.
