Coastal Opportunities and Agricultural Solutions to Tackle Salinity in Bangladesh

Adapted from the project website

The project will contribute to sustainable agriculture and food-system development on farmland affected by varying salinity levels.
This includes support to increase the availability and commercial viability of locally produced salt tolerant seed varieties, agro-training to farmers in saline agriculture, support to farmers in access to markets, and the endorsement of saline agriculture by local, national and academic institutions.

This will, among other things, result in:

  • 5,000 ha of farmland that agro-ecologically became more resilient to possible stresses and/or shocks.
  • 10,000 farmers (50% women) with increased productivity and income.
